The BOB Report (Dec 16, 2025)

Here we report on the progress of the @build_on_bob ecosystem, documenting recent significant releases, technical breakthroughs and general updates

🔸 Cut-and-Choose 🔸

BOB implemented Cut-and-Choose for BitVM3 using Verifiable Secret Sharing Schemes and adaptor signatures, with related transactions submitted to @Bitcoin mainnet: https://gobob.xyz/blog/bob-lowers-onchain-costs-for-bitvm3

Assert transaction costs drop by about 87% versus earlier @SuccinctLabs SP1-based approaches, bringing fees to roughly $10. Work follows a BitVM3 design proposed by @AlpenLabs, with contributions from BitVM Alliance members.

Changes reduce transaction size and fees, improving feasibility of BOB’s trust-minimized native BTC bridge beyond large transfers and broader onchain use cases.

🔸 SDK 🔸

BOB added custom DeFi actions to the BOB Gateway SDK, allowing builders to create 1-click Bitcoin DeFi flows across 11 @LayerZero_Core-connected chains: https://gobob.xyz/blog/custom-defi-actions-now-integrated-in-bob-gateway-sdk

The update enables arbitrary actions on destination chains after bridging native BTC via BOB, simplifying deployments such as lending, swaps, and liquidity provision.

Developers can reuse LayerZero composer contracts to access native BTC liquidity with reduced user-side complexity.

🔸 Vision 🔸

@alexeiZamyatin, Co-founder of BOB shared a vision for Bitcoin-native banking, arguing that most BTC remains idle and controlled by legacy platforms: https://x.com/alexeiZamyatin/status/1991923973253157217

He outlined BOB’s hybrid architecture combining Bitcoin and @ethereum security, Bitcoin intents, yield vaults, and BitVM-based bridges.

The roadmap focuses on expanding native BTC DeFi usage, improving UX, and positioning Bitcoin as a core collateral asset for everyday financial products.

🔸 Integrations 🔸

Lastly, the project has been integrated into @dzap_io’s bridge and swap aggregator through BOB Gateway, making it the recommended route for Bitcoin transfers: https://gobob.xyz/blog/dzap-integrates-bob-gateway

The integration enables one-click BTC bridging, with DZap automatically benchmarking speed, cost, slippage, reliability, and security.

BOB Gateway is currently the only supported provider offering direct Bitcoin-to-wBTC routes to multiple ecosystems, improving liquidity flow, onboarding, and developer experience across connected DeFi applications.
